OUR MISSION
Provide affordable eyeglasses to low-income areas lacking trained professionals. By training local workers to administer examinations and dispense glasses, we aim to not only improve vision but also to contribute to local economies and the independence of workers in the community.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Comprehensive Training
The program will employ a structured training curriculum for local workers, covering basic eye examinations, prescription determination, and eyeglass dispensing.
Mobile Vision Clinics
Mobile vision clinics equipped with examination tools will travel to underserved areas, providing on-the-spot eyecare services to individuals who do not have access otherwise.
Community Engagement:
The program will conduct community outreach programs to raise awareness, as well as collaborating with local leaders, schools, and community organizations to ensure maximum participation and impact.
Sustainable Business Model
The goal is to provide a pair of custom eyeglasses for $3-5 USD. This modest fee to recipients contributes to the local economy and also ensures the long-term viability and self-sufficiency of the program. While the pilot program will initially be supported via donations, a sustainable business model will be achieved by paying local workers to provide services..
Quality Assurance
Regular quality checks and training updates will be implemented to maintain a high standard of care. This can be achieved through collaboration with experienced eyecare professionals who can periodically assess and support the local workforce.
